FMECA | Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis

In your complex industrial projects, FMECA is your guarantee of reliability, safety, and performance.

FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) is a tool used to conduct analyses of reliability, maintainability, availability, and safety (in the sense of protection)—collectively referred to as operational safety—as well as analyses related to quality.

Whether it involves a product, a service, a system, or a process, conducting an FMECA must be a collaborative, comprehensive, and systematic effort.

This exercise is a cross-functional effort that takes into account the constraints and expectations of all stakeholders.

Risk assessment is objective and takes into account the severity of the failure (safety, quality, supply, etc.), its frequency, and its detectability.

Depending on the type of FMECA, the exercise results in a reliability plan, a monitoring plan, quality control, and a maintenance strategy: preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, a safety plan, as well as safety stock levels and lead times.

The FMECA analysis is a time-consuming but fruitful process that fits perfectly into a risk analysis and prevention approach. Furthermore, the formalization provided by the analysis table allows for the preservation and capitalization of information regarding the characteristics of production resources, products, and processes.

Our Sectors

FMECA is widely used in the automotive, aerospace, and rail industries, as well as in the nuclear and pharmaceutical sectors.
