During the Preliminary Design Phase

  • The preliminary thermal sizing of S&T heat exchangers, double-pipe units, and air coolers allows for:

    • Consolidate process simulations: number of units, heat exchange surface area, pressure drop, etc.

    • Consolidate preliminary piping layout studies: pipe lengths, overall dimensions, etc.

    • Consolidate preliminary civil engineering and structural studies: footprint, weight

    • Assist with cost estimates by providing budget price ranges (within +/- 30%, +/- 15%, etc., depending on the project)

  • Mechanical pre-dimensioning of static equipment allows for:
